Spitzgeigen German?

Mentioned only in passing by Irwin with no description at all. It is apparently a variety of Geigen made from conical pipes.

Examples

Spitzgeigen 8', Grand Choir; Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, Kensington, California, USA; Aeolian-Skinner 1961.

Spitzgeigen 8', Choir; Central Union Church, Honululu, Hawaii, USA; Aeolian-Skinner 1966.

Spitz Geigen 8', Grand Orgue; Metropolitan Memorial, National United Methodist Church, Washington DC, USA; Cannarsa 1981. (Rebuild of 1961 Aeolian-Skinner in which the Spitz Geigen appeared in the Choir.)
